Laurie, no our electric rates haven't increased recently, they are currently applying for an increase though. I read my electric meter today and it looks like my bill will be about $18 more this time than last month. I'll try to be extra careful in the next month and see how it goes.

Cheryl, your little log cabin sounds so neat. Glad dh was able to get the computer he wanted.

Ellen, the way I handle perishables with shopping every 4 weeks is I buy enough to last 2 weeks when I shop or almost 2 weeks. Then we do fill in with canned fruits and veggies if we run out. My dh gets paid every 2 weeks so I allow quite a bit more grocery money one paycheck for my big shopping. Then the next 2 week check I fill in with fresh milk, fruit and veggies from a local store. The reason I shop every 4 weeks is because we live in a small resort area and prices are rather high. We are 60-90 minutes one way from the city where they have all the big box stores and chain grocery stores. It is well worth the time and gas to shop there. For instance Lactaid milk that I use is $4.49 a half gallon up here, $3.39 at Target today. Sara Lee pies ON SALE up here $4.88, $2.98 at WinCo today. Blue Diamond almonds that my dh is currently obsessed with $3.49 here, $2.21 there. So when every product is around a dollar savings I feel I have to do this. Plus it is a day out for the two of us, we eat lunch out and he gets to shop for Hot Wheels which you can't even buy up here, at least you can't find any new ones.

Norma, the forgetting your jewelry was God's way of showing you that headlight was out. Glad you were able to get it fixed the same day.

Kathy, sorry you couldn't find a better deal on a turkey. I was thinking of just buying a breast but we shopped at WinCo for most of the groceries and they had Jennie O turkeys for 25c a lb. if you spent over $50 so I only spent $3.93 for my bird. Stupid me though didn't think of it til we were unpacking groceries at home, I had over $100 and told dh I should have split it into 2 orders and gotten 2 cheap turkeys, duh!

Connie, I'm happy to hear your dh loves his new job. Hope you will be completely well soon.

Mish, glad you were able to get your vehicle fixed. My heater is acting up and dh will be looking at it this week. As long as you are driving with your foot on the gas it is fine, when you just idle it starts blowing cold air instead of hot, grrr. I was following a slow car the other day so no foot on the gas and it started the cold air thing, after he turned off and I sped up it got warm again. Again let it idle at a stop light, same thing, cold.

Barb, sorry you are having pain, that surgery can't come soon enough can it?

It's pretty cool this evening, usually I'm the cold one and dh is warm blooded but he got cold tonight and started a fire, it does feel good but I wasn't going to ask for one. Usually he starts one for me in the mornings before he leaves for work, such a wonderful hubby.
