Don't toss things that you can donate to GoodWill or to a shelter.

It sounds like you are on top of everything! I even wrapped my silverware and kitchen ware in kitchen towels. Cover one end of an empty paper towel roll with heavy masking tape or packing tape. Fill the tube with steak knives or anything sharp like that. Tape the open end shut. Write on the tube what is inside.


This is my favorite tip and I do this every time we move:

Pack a "Move In" box for your family to use the night you arrive. Fill it with towels, soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, toilet paper(!), deodarent, night clothes, hairbrush and a change of clean clothes for in the morning. I always add a new shower curtain liner and hooks too.
