| DeBora, I don’t think my dc boys bedwetting issue is a new one but it is new for him to do it at nap time. I often wonder if he gets enough sleep at home if he is sleeping so deeply at nap time. I have also given his mom lots of info on adhd and how to deal with it at home as well as what else needs to be done as far as therapy and diagnoses etc. She is definitely going to start looking into it so that’s a start. I am sorry your dd is being so difficult when it comes to seeing her children. Her children will be hurt more if she makes empty promises to come see them but it never seems to work out. I know the tough love route must be very hard for you but you are doing the right thing. Seems like without major consequences, your dd and sil are never going to grow up and take responsibility. As for your dgs’ bedwetting, waterproof pads should help and it may be something he will outgrow but has his pediatrician talked about it at all? And for getting out the stain/smell on upholstery, I use Carbona. It is actually a carpet cleaner but works great on upholstery too. (being a daycare provider, I learn a lot about these things!) Barbszy, you are so right about my difficult dc boy needing structure at home and I don’t think he gets any. And the worst part is, every time he starts getting out of control, he mom threatens to send him to stay with his dad. His dad should not be used as a threat of punishment! I am not sure how much consistency there is at home either. (the kids are mostly with their mom who is living with her mom) Sandie, I hope your mom is healing well though it sounds like it is going to take awhile. I don’t envy you having to take care of her alone I have been there and no how hard it can be. Does your area have a Visiting Nurses Association? They can help with bathing, doing her hair, etc. there are other agencies, too, that can provide respite care so you can get out of the house to get some time to yourself. It is good your brother is coming so he can help out a bit. Felicia, I am definitely going to be using some of my compost in my vegetable garden this fall so get the soil ready for spring. My garden is in terrible shape this year due to all the rain we have had. Ellen, I have heard of compost tea before. Wonder if it would help my flower gardens. Donna (train) I would be more than happy to send some rain your way. We are getting another week’s worth and I am so not happy as this time it is coming with heat and humidity! Your journal is fascinating!! I feel like I am on the trip with you. You have a wonderful way with words that is so descriptive. Bar_bar, your red hat earrings sound so cute! Very cool about finding the perfect gift for John’s best friend. I am glad your dd can come to you when she is having a melt down and it is good you can turn to her as well. Sounds like you will have a good time with your dgc. And you are going to love having dsl on your computer. It is so much faster than dial up. Sounds like you got a great deal. And thank you for the update on Lauri. I will keep her in my prayers. Donna-Marie, hope you can get all your computer problems straightened out. I always check my email before opening them but from now on will be even more careful because I sure don’t want to get a virus. Are you tired of the rain yet? Seems like we are having more coming our way. Charlotte, sounds like you and dh had a nice visit at your dd’s college orientation. It also sounds like you had a nice visit with your friends. Sharon, you are so lucky to have cherries! We have a cherry tree in our yard but they are sour cherries not the sweet ones and this year I didn’t get to them to do anything with them. Very cool Buck caught a nice salmon. I love salmon. Theresa, I am so glad to hear you are out of the hospital and I hope that you are feeling better. Hope you are able to go to Thunder Bay with Glen. I am so sorry to hear your in-laws are still wrecking havoc. It is good you called the police on them but I am truly sorry they were not much help. You don’t deserve to have to deal with this all the time. Patti, I hope you are feeling better today. Hope your family all has a good time on their trips. Yesterday dh and I went to the Canterbury Fair. It is on old time fair with antiques, crafts, animals, blacksmithing, the Morris Dancers, food, a book sale etc. I did good and only bought two books (50 cents apiece) but dh bought several. We had a good time. Today we are cleaning the house and taking care of clutter. It is finally sunny out but very hot and humid with thunder showers on the way for this afternoon. More rain off and on all week. I am going to try to post some pictures of our vacation in my FC photo album. One will be of our dock which was totally under water when we arrived. By the end of our vacation we were able to use about 1/3 of it. I am hoping we can get back to the island for a weekend soon. Next weekend is dh’s 30th high school reunion. We will be going to that. Not sure when mine will be but hopefully at the end of summer. Time to get back to work. Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.
