Anna, I haven't noticed any critters in the pots, but we really don't have too many here. We do have lots of lizards, but they're not interested. It is so dry here, and I don't water the pots much. We do get roaches and crickets, though, especially when the neighbors call the exterminators! I don't see them in the pots, however.We use the dry stuff with boric acid around our doors, and I think it works better than the commercial stuff. Well, I have digressed here!

Thanks for the info on the jars. I will give it a try, and remember the head room.

Instead of throwing away pineapple tops, I plant them. I have some pretty huge pineapple plants now, and they were free. They make a spectacular plant.
