We have a small one.. we got it at Walmart. I don't know what brand it is, but we just shred up stuff that we don't need any more. I don't get the newspaper so it's only ads & small papers that I shred. I didn't know about the oiling it either.. thanks for posting that tip. This one has been in use for about a year. I have a large waste basket & put a trash bag in it & shred the paper in there. Then all I have to do is take the bag out & put a new one in when it gets full. Ours is adjustable so it fits across the waste basket. Once in a while ours will jam , but it has a reverse button & I just reverse the paper so it comes out & then clean the little shreds that get caught in the blades & it works fine again. I'll use the oil tip & see if it works better. |
