I guess I don't know how much shredding. For bills and mail I collect about a grocery bag once a month. If I were to make mulch it would be much more, instead of recycling for free newspapers that I've paid for, then I would need a shredder that could handle about 4 inches thick of newspaper once a week (but not all at once!)

We had one at work that would do a CD. It was a Fellowes.
Yep, that is what we did to oil ours. You have to use a light colored oil like cooking oil --nothing dark.
