Missibob, you could use it to organize computer cd's and office supplies (paper clips etc.), You could use it to organize greeting cards (birthday, get well, etc.) and store stamps and address labels. I think it is neat and has lots of uses.

I compost all of our "raw" foods (vegetable peels, fruit peels or cores, etc. and though my town does not have recycling I recycle cans through dh's work. As for making things out of other things, i save used candle jars and jelly jars for food storage or to give as gifts filled with dip or drink mixes. I use empty canning jars to store things like rice and grains. Mugs the handles have broken off become plant pots. I have a wooden seedling drawer that I have turned on its side and used as a bookcase. I use old table cloths that have a hole or stain for pillow covers. I just make sure when I cut them to fit the pillow, the stain is not in the part I am using. I have recoverd some pillows with beautiful old table cloths.
