chuckle A Crafty Christmas! A long one!!

This is my first Christmas in 4 years without chemo and I am having so much fun!! My 15 yo DD and I handpainted all of our Christmas cards this year. We finished that a few nights ago and they go in the mail after Thanksgiving. I'm also doing primitive stitching and making Christmas signs and sayings and sewing borders and adding ribbons to make them into wall hangings. Those are gifts. I made 2 small Christmas quilts to hang in my dining room (almost finished with the last one) and I fround the cutest doilies with cross stith fabric in the middle on sale at Michael's so I bought 15 of them and I'm stitching Christmas pictures in them to give as gifts. My best gift (going to my favorite aunt) is a cross stitch of an angel that turned out to be about 20 x 16 large and I had it professionally framed. It took me 3 years to finish it during my chemo treatments but I am so proud of it. It will be hard to part with but she was by my side through it all and it will mean just as much to her!

OK other things I'm making: I'm making floral arrangements. 2 for me on the fireplace mantle and 2 as gifts. I bought 4" pots for 33 cents and painted them silver. Filled them with pieces from an old wreath and little Christmas stick pins and they are so cute, cheap and easy (oh no, is that my motto for this Christmas? Hehehe)

Oh, I'm painting bottles and filling them with my special pepper sauce that I made form this year's crop. I have requests for that every year but I've never painted the bottles. Each year, previous recipients return my bottles wanting refills! That makes me feel good!

Last: I'm sewing new table linens form some pretty Christmas sheets I found on sale last year (the cheapest fabric!!) We repainted my dining room country red and cream (it was blue and white) and I managed to change all my colors except for my dishes which are blue, white and silver and have snowflakes on them. If anyone read this far: any ideas how to blend those plates, serving dishes, etc. with my red room and red and gold country Christmas decor now? hmmmmmm
