We love to go tent camping in the fall! The cold weather is great! I always try to make it a little educational for my 7 year old daughter. We've learned how to bake in a dutch oven, and we always keep a look out for wildlife and talk about their habitat, etc. We always build a camp fire and roast marshmallows and hot dogs. The upside about camping in the cold weather is NO BUGS or BEARS! Then after the kids are asleep my hubby and I cuddle and talk by the campfire!
