In the warmer seasons, we use lots of sidewalk chalk, bubbles, a great sandbox and lots of ride on toys. In the summer we also have a sprinkler for wet fun & to cool off. We go for walks, go to library programs, and read books in the shade when it is too hot. In the fall we rake piles of leaves to jump into, look for treasures like pretty leaves, abandoned birds nests, etc. One year I had the daycare kids fill grocery bags with acorns (which kept them busy) and later that winter when it was cold and snowy, we threw all the acorns out in the back yard and watched the squirrels have a good time with them.
