I recently started watching my 2 yr. old grandson. At 50 years old, I am slower than I used to be and my grandson is always on the go-Now when we go someplace I use the wrist leash as an extension of my arm-This keeps him always in a long arms reach away, but allows him to explore. My son-in-law saw it in the diaper bag and removed it last week. My daughter says just keep it in my car.
I had six children and I did use a leash occassionally when I was rearing them.
A leash means I care enough to not take any chances on the child being lost or kidnapped. I agree with the other comments about how people care more about losing their animals than their children-It is not about treating them like animals, but caring enough to take "NO chances."
