Orange Butter Cookies: 1 cup butter 1/2 cup sugar 1 t. grated orange peel, finely chopped 1 egg 1 t. vanilla 3 cups flour Glaze.... 1 and a 1/2 cup powdered sugar 3 T. orange juice 1/4 t. orange peel, finely chopped Beat butter and sugar together. Beat in 1 t orange peel, egg and vanilla. Gradually mix flour into butter mixture, beat until blended. On a lightly floured board, roll out dough to 1/8 inch thick. Cut out with floured cookie cutters of desired shape and place on greased baking sheet. Bake at 350 until pale golden brown, approx 12 minutes. Glaze: Mix powdered sugar and orange juice until smooth, add 1/2 t of orange peel. Brush glaze over warm cookies and let stand until icing is dry. Deb, these are one of my favorite cookies! I double the recipe and I use star shaped cookie cutters. They come out really pretty! Ava Garlenger Creamy Chocolate Candies 2 boxes powdered sugar 1 can Eagle Brand 1/2 cup butter, softened 12 oz. package chocolate chips 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional) In double boiler, melt together a 1/2 cake of wax with 1 12 oz package chocolate chips. Mix powdered sugar, eagle brand and butter together. Add walnuts, if desired. Shape into balls. Dip into chocolate and let set up on waxed paper in the refrigerator. hugs, train
