If it doesn't seem to go away, you might want to go to your dr's or to a dermatologist, it might turn out to be ezcema or psoarisis. I have psoarisis and three of my six children have ezcema. I used to use a prescription creme which helped A LOT, but since I couldn't afford the dermatologist anymore, I cannot get it. I now use the WalMart brand of hydrocortizone cream with skin conditioners in it. It works pretty good. I have also had one Dr prescribe me Eucerin cream before it became "OTC" and yet another Dr refuse to prescribe it for me because Crisco worked just as good in his opinion.
My children's doc recommended using Dove soap only for their washing, but one son found that using Ivory worked better for him.
I have one hand that is really sensitive to cleaners now. When that gets red and chapped, I coat it with Vaseline before I go to bed at night (wish I could find some cheap cotton gloves to wear with it to keep it on my hands and not the sheets).
