Good morning! More ice than snow here, I think, but very cold!
BoggsZ, it looks like you got some great recipes for sugar cookies! I am not very good at making those, but I do have a great Scottish shortbread recipe if you would like it:
4 sticks of butter, NO substitutes
1 cup sugar
5 cups sifted flour
Mash butter just until soft, and cream in the sugar. Add flour and blend in one cup at a time. using hands. divide into two eight inch circles and place in UNgreased cake pans or a cookie sheet. Crimp edges with a floured fork. Score like a pie, into twelve triangles per circle. Prick the surface of the dough all over and cover with waxed paper. Chill two hrs. or overnight. Bake at 325* for 40 min. Sprinkle with sugar and cut into wedges. Store in an airtight container up to three weeks or three months in freezer. A lot of butter, but they are to die for. Probably because of all the butter, of course. LOL Take care and I hope everyone stays safe and warm today!
