Yes! I can absolutely tell the difference when I don't spend time in the Word etc. Each a.m. I get up and make my coffee and then I sit at the kitchen table and read until something grabs my attention. Some days that is one sentence, others, it might be a paragraph. I am not doing a devotional at the moment, just reading through the bible - getting there - in Hebrews right now. I can honestly say that I have learned an incredible amount just taking my time and praying then reading etc. and marking in my date book a verse or a thought that struck me that day. God's economy is amazing...spend time with Him and somehow He stretches out your day and you are able to deal with life much better. That cup of coffee and my quiet time is a great time of the day - me time that benefits everyone! I have usually at least 1/2 hour before dd's get up. Love it.
