Well, I'm looking into options for crafts that may make me a profit eventually, so while at the library I checked out a book on painting gourds. I've seen them at craft shows and thought I could do that. Looks like a hassle to dry/clean them, but seems intriguing, too. Or, I may just see if there's a demand for the plain gourds, then all I'd have to do is grow them and sell them to the crafters.
I roasted one of our turkeys today--so we can cut it up, make the stock, etc and get it out of the way. This way, when we want turkey later on, I don't have to thaw and cook a whole bird!! Plus, it was taking up some valuable fridge space lol!! I made rolls and bread for the stuffing already, and the pies are in the freezer, too. So all I have to do Thursday is throw the bird in the oven and make the potates. And the cranberry sauce, of course. My dad opted to work Thursday instead of coming to dinner--it makes me sad, but I understand why he doesn't want to celebrate. I just hope he's able to move on a bit by Christmas--I'd hate for my kids to miss another holiday with "papa" because he's depressed!!
Main frugal thing for me today was making laundry soap and hanging my clothes to dry. I finally made it to the top of Laundry Mountain and could hang the wash because we didn't need it "right now"!!
