Thanks Elizabeth! Sometimes I feel like whining too! ally has her fall break this Wed, Thur, Fri and I would love to go home to Chattanooga. I have to decide whether I should make the drive or not. I'd love to see my family but I'd love to get some rest too and get a few things done around here.
I am a Lutheran but I attend and am a member of an Episcopal Church. We have Priests and Bishops. We have all sorts of different levels of priests which I haven't all figured out yet. I love the ceremonial type service. My dh has been away from church for 20+ years. He got disenchanted by hypocrisy and churches that were so judgemental. He is now going with us. He has been going off and on for a year but a little over a month ago he has been going regulary. He wouldn't take communion, but two weeks ago I got a surprise when he got up to go to the alter for communion! I teach pre-school thru 1st grade Sunday school.
Why is it that during " Monthlies" you don't take communion?
Thanks for all the info.
Patti, I love Ginger snaps and I am a dunker too! Glad you got a nap- also one of my favorite things. It was sweet what you said about your grandmother. My g'mpther left this life two yrs ago this December. WE had such a bond. We always were so close. We still are bonded. She loved flowers so much. When I am in my garden I feel very close to her. I have her rose bushes and they are beautiful. They bloom so much.
Mouse, I love those fall festivals. I am glad y'all had fun. We won our game by quite a bit. We got to play the second and third string, which was good. My sister , her dh and her two kids came on Thurs. and went to our B team game on Thurs and to the game on Friday. Her almost two year old and her four year did great. The little Boy, Ben loves football and thinks my dh is big stuff cause he is a coach! Steve let hime go on the sidelines with him during some of the B team game and I got pics- it was cute. All the boys went with the football team to see the GA Southern game in Statesboro. Ally went also. My sis, her 2 yr old, Sydney and I went out to lunch, went to the park, let her play for awhile, then walked on the walking track. We found a neat consignment store and she got some great clothes for Syd. I got a vintage Christmas tablecloth for $2 and I was happy. I collect the colorful vintage tablecloths.
I hate the no child thing also. Poloticians who know nothing about teaching designed it. They teach the test and are forced to cover so much material it takes the fun completly out of learning. Also the info doesn't have time to go into long term memory before they are on to something else. Therfore, they actually learn less. Don't ya'll just love it when I get on my soapbox
Joyce, I think I'll have to borrow E if he keeps this up!!! That is great he got the bulbs. They will comeup most likely- mine usuallu always do I have no luck with tulips. My squirrels eat the bulbs. When we get together I will give you some of my g'mother's iris bulbs.
Kim, Glad you are back!
Martie.I love those kind of fairs. I am jealous you got to go! ARe the girls better/ I hope so.
I better get going. The girls I am babysitting gets dropped off at 12 .
I ushered for the Curious George performance. It went well and I enjoyed it. I got to see lots of kids and teachers I knew. I had called the Council for ARTS awhile back and put my name on the volunteer list. also, one of my friends was coordinating this event also. So she called me and asked. Mouse, I would look up Arts or Theater in your area if you want to volunteer. You get to see free plays and meet nice people. When I get better I want to get involved doing community theater again.
Hope you all have a wonderful week!!! Take care.
