Shanti,
Please forgive me if I sounded too negative . I didn't mean that at all. As parents, we do what we have too and /or think is best. Both my sister and brother are great about limiting TV- mine stays on 75% of the time. Luckily, our daughter isn't addicted to it as much as her parents are! Also, I am supposed to really watch my diet because of my muscle disease. They said it would be best to give up caffeine and sugar. I have to have a cup of coffee in the am and love chocolate!!! I minored in child dev and have read zillions of child dev books and quite often I really question my parenting skills. It isn't easy!!
One of my pet peeves is people being too quick to say ADHD bc they don't want to deal with normal child behaviors. Children are not physically or mentally able to sit still and be angels all day. Some teachers want the kids medicated so they have to deal with any behavior issues at all. However, It is a real illness and some kids need meds to have the quality of life they deserve and to function. My sis gives her children no sugar and makes most things from scratch. The kids eat celery sticks for snacks, watch little TV and they are the most hyper kids I have ever seen!
Welcome Back Cassie. Everyone else, my principal just called and I have a ton of work to do for PTO. I'll have to finish reading the posts about what is going on with you all later on. I hope you are all well.
have a great day!!
