I hope this is OK to post this here (if not--SORRY!!) but I had a great idea for a "Secret Sister" gift.......how about a small donation to that Sister's favorite charity--maybe $5.00??? Many places will send a nice card to the "donor-(i.e.--your Sister) thanking them for the gift...

For example---my hubby is a firefighter and a police officer---I would be thrilled if someone made a SMALL donation to their local volunteer fire department or to a local D.A.R.E. program in my name...

some others...

breast cancer awareness or any medical/disease related charity

local humane society or "no kill" shelter

Shriner's Burn Units--when my Mom passed away, my hubby's fire department sent a donation in Mom's name to the nearest Shrine's Hospital for burned children----what a thoughtful idea--I was soooo touched. I received a very nice card giving their condolences for my loss but thank you for the donation....

local homeless or women's shelters etc.

many areas have "bike runs" for charity--sponsor a rider

This is just a few that I could come up with--I know there are "zillions" out there....maybe others could post there ideas too.....

If I made a donation for my Sister--I would send her a nice card stating that I made a donation in her name to such & such place to let her know.....
