It was dark and dreary here this morning.. we were supposed to get rain but it didn't happen.

My frugal things today:

1. Cooked up a big batch of Johnny Marzetti for this week, several meals.

2. Ate leftover hot dogs from yesterday's dinner for lunch today.

3. Went to Volunteers of America they were doing a half price everything in the store sale. I found 2 cast iron skillets, a small one and a large. I had looked at the large yesterday, it was 4.99 but someone had set it down on something with plastic and it was coated on there good, so I didn't buy it. Today it was 2.49 and I thought maybe a SOS pad would take it off, so I bought it and the other little one which was also 4.99 1/2 price made it 2.49 or 2.50? so I brought it home and got the idea of using dh's sander on the bottom of the skillet. Dh did it for me, put a little more muscle into it and lo and behold, the plastic came off! He did the inside too where there was a little spot of rust. So I now have 2 irons so when I want to make a "old timers" recipe such as oven fried apples I have the proper equipment

I also found at another thrift store a large 3 piece storage container set so that'll be handy for storing crackers, bags of pretzels, tortilla chips, etc. the smaller ones will be good for dry beans, etc. it was only $2.99. Another thing I found was a pampered chef plastic saucepan with a lid on it, it has pourable spouts so this will be handy for heating sauces, it was .90 cents.

So I found a few good buys today. Well we see you all in the morning... have a good evening everyone.
