I like the idea of your monthly parties. You are right, it doesn't take a lot of money to have people over for dinner, especially if you stock up as you do your shopping and have extra foods on hand, which it sounds like you do!! I just had a Christmas brunch for my girlfriends. The menu was simple enough to prepare and everyone really enjoyed themselves!
