Christmas meals

What my mom always did and I like to do- although my kids have mixed reviews about- is make hungarian stuffed cabbage. Nice and simple. white rice, ground pork and little salt pepper, red pepper. rolled in par boiled cabbbage leaves and put on a bed of saurkraut. the pork feels light being ground, and the little bit of fat it has mellows out the tart of the saurkraut. It is so perfect, because around that time of year, everyone is eating so many sweets.
my mom would also make cheese stroda for breakfast, which is like ham and cheese in the oven.
cheers!
kathy
