I've went back to old fashioned using a dish pan to wash dishes (btw, it's been at least 2 months now since I gave up the dishwasher).
Anna,

I have washed dishes in a dishpan for over twenty years. When we moved into our new home, we put in a dishwasher and I have been in heaven ever since. I just LOVE it. I put whatever I can in there! Still wash by hand quite a few things, but what a time/labor saver the dishwasher is! It has a frugal, low energy setting I use when the dishes aren't real dirty which is most of the time.

Lisa,

Wonderful news! I echo nagymom's sentiments "This is terrific for you all and I pray that all continues to go so well for you." !! Hope your job continues to be rewarding and your new home is soon a welcoming haven for you and your family to RELAX and be HAPPY in.

Autumnmum,

Mailed out my batch of coupons this afternoon! You should receive them by the second of September.

I applaud you for all the love you show others by your giving spirit!

Songberries,

That van idea is hilarious! I hope you will be able to post a pic of the actual finished van when it is done...my dh loves this kind of thing. He's a grease-monkey, too.

Our meter reader (we are in the country) sits in his truck & reads the meters with binoculars. Cushy job.
MKS,

A female meter reader here in Florida made the news when she was recently mauled by several dogs as she tried to read a meter over a four-foot fence. The dogs jumped the fence and tore her ear and part of her scalp off. It was pretty gruesome. (sorry for the graphics - is necessary for making an important point). If I were a meter reader, I would read meters from my car with binoculars. It is standard practice in some areas. Just wanted to show a different viewpoint. A new way to look at what has become a very dangerous job.

Emmalee,

You go girl! That's the way to it! Individually wrapped frozen packages into the lunchbox.

Frugalness for me today:

Shopped loss leaders at three stores near each other. Too pooped to post the particulars. You'll excuse me this time, right?
