Having the Space You Need on Your Vacation
by Jennifer Dugan
If you have children and have stayed
in a basic hotel room with the two double beds, you know it would be nice
to have more space. A condominium or vacation home rental is a great option.
You will have the space you need for spreading out. These accommodations
may also be the most affordable when you consider booking more than one hotel
room.
Many properties offer two and three bedrooms, sometimes even more. Extended
families such as grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, stepchildren, and
even friends can share the expense while still having their own space.
Most often, they include full kitchens, dining rooms, living areas, washer
and dryers. Some offer private pools and spas. If you have small children
who need bottles or baby food, a kitchen is extremely helpful. You can also
make meals if you get tired of eating out. With added space, you do not feel
so much as if you are living out of a suitcase.
Even places like DisneyWorld realize the importance of more space. Disney
offers villas that can be up to three bedrooms. Many other locations in the
Orlando area also have great condominiums or houses available for vacationers.
Hawaii is known for its condominium availability. Many places across the
United States offer this option.
Then there are hotels with suites, which is catching on with hotel chains.
There once were only a selected number of hotel chains that offered suites.
Now hotel chains like Comfort Inn and Holiday Inn offer suites. Many have
a bedroom separate from the living area.
Families really enjoy this because they still have all the convenience of
a hotel name they trust along with the space for their family. Kids tend
to respond better to a suite too because they have more room and do not feel
so cramped. It definitely comes in handy when rainy weather strikes your
vacation.
Families are also realizing the comfort of renting minivans on their trips.
Especially if your trip will require a lot of driving time, your family will
appreciate the room a minivan can offer. Even if you are driving somewhere
instead of flying, you can rent a minivan with unlimited mileage.
Therefore, instead of worrying about your car breaking down, you can rent
a minivan and if something goes wrong, the car company will help get you
back on the road.
Have a trip to remember for all the great things, not the bad. One way of
doing this is to make sure everyone in your family, including Mom and Dad,
has the space they need.
