Now that your supplies are at the ready and your work surface has been prepared, let's begin!

What You Do

Generously spray a cookie sheet (one with sides) with cooking spray; set aside.

Melt butter in a large pot over medium heat. Add marshmallows and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until marshmallows are melted. Remove from heat and stir in crispy rice cereal until well coated.

Firmly press warm cereal mixture evenly into the cookie sheet. Let cool for 5 minutes.

Using the star cutters cut out one small star, one medium star & one large star for each skewer. You will get 4 - 6 skewers full of stars, depending on the size of your cookie cutters. Stick the pointed end of the skewer into the large star and slide 3/4 down the stick. Follow with the med. sized star. Snip of the sharp point of the skewer before placing the small star on the top of it.

Melt white chocolate in microwave. Divide into 3 bowls. Using the paste food coloring, color one bowl red and one blue. Leave the last bowl white. Decorate the stars in festive patterns. Sprinkle on colored candies. Lay flat to dry. Tie pieces of ribbon onto the skewers for a decorative touch.

Store sparklers lying flat in a sealed container.
