  Chinese Lantern Cookies
by Tami Rose

Dish up some luck at your Chinese New Year dinner this year by serving these lucky Chinese lantern cookies for dessert.

What You Need

1 roll of sugar cookie dough or
your favorite sugar cookie recipe
1 can of vanilla frosting
1 tsp. almond extract (optional)
red and yellow paste food coloring
cookie cutters- round, rectangle, oblong
red fruit leather candy strips
good luck pattern

Getting Ready

Gather ingredients for the cookies according list above.

Make sure that children use pot holders and have some handy wipes or a sink nearby to wash hands.
