  Recycled Shoebox

Transform an old shoe box into a whimsical storage box for all loose crayons or the little miscellaneous around the house. This is a fun back to school project or for any time the kids are looking for something to make!

You will need

Old shoe box
Brushes
Craft Paints
Ruler
Black Permanent Marker
cardboard
Mod Podge (Optional)
pencil pattern

What you do

Paint entire box white. Two coats may be necessary. Paint each side of the box and lid a different color. Let dry.

Enlarge or reduce image to fit your box.

Transfer crayon pattern into cardboard and use it as a template to trace onto the box. Now paint all the crayons white first and let dry this way when you apply color to the crayon they will stand out, other wise the color of the back round will compete with the color of the crayon.

Paint all the crayons. Keep in mind that these colors are just suggested colors but you can paint them the color of your choice.

Using a black permanent marker and a ruler outline crayons. Seal with Modge Podge if you wish.
