Smiley Face Flower Pot
by Theresa Smith
This cute little flower pot is easy to make and is a great gift for Mom, a teacher or anyone who needs a smile. Make several and keep on hand for special occassions or add a magnet to the back and hang on the fridge!
You will need
green chenille stems for leaves & stem
small piece of pink pipe cleaner for smile (optional)
plastic toothpick container
1 medium white pom pom
8-10 small yellow pom poms
2 small wiggle eyes
1 tiny pink pom pom
glue
If you make this project we'd love to see it! Just send your photos and comments to the editor and it may get published on this page!
What you do
Glue wiggle eyes and nose (pink pom pom) to the white pom pom. Let dry thoroughly.
Glue yellow pom poms around white pom pom for petals. Let dry thoroughly.
Bend green chenille stems to form leaves and a stem. Glue flower to the stem and let dry thoroughly.
Place flower inside plastic toothpick container as flower pot. Toothpick containers that have the hole in the top are perfect for this project.
Slip chenille stem through hole in top and now you have a flower with a flower pot just for mom on Mother's Day.
Decorate the plastic container if you like with stickers or paint.
Editor's Notes: If you don't have a toothpick container use any other container and a small amount of floral foam to keep the flower in the upright position. You can also stuff the container with tissue paper, enough to hold the flower steady.
Also, hot glue works much quicker that craft glue but can burn small fingers. If using hot glue a grown up should be responsible for the gluing.
