Here's a fun project to do with your
kids, or for your kids! Only a couple of items needed for this simple, yet
lovable little Santa. Makes a great gift for a teacher too!
You will need
red plastic M&M minis tube with M&M's
white or iridescent pom pom
acrylic craft paint in white, black, pink, flesh, and silver
black marker
small paint brush
craft glue
If you make this project we'd love to see it! Just send your photos and comments to the editor and it may get published on this page!
What you do
Remove label from tube. Remove M&M Minis and set aside. Using flesh craft
paint, paint on an oval at the front of the tub, just underneath the flip
top, for face. Use white paint to create beard and hair around face area.
Make beard wider than hair area.
About 2/3 down the tube, paint on a white belt, paint it all the way around
the tube. Paint white upward from beltline to beard, without touching beard,
to form the jacket center. Allow white paint to dry completely.
Use black paint to fashion a belt buckle by painting a rectangle as seen
in photo. Use black paint to dot on Santa's eyes. Using black marker, draw
on mouth. Dip paint brush into pink paint and blot onto paper towel to remove
excess paint. Light blot on cheeks.
Glue pom pom to the top of the tube. After all the paint has dried, put M&M
Minis back into tube.
