Camp Journal
by Terri Bose

camp journal Make a journal to keep track of your days at camp. What a great craft for the kids to make before they head out the door!

You need:

Autograph Book
1/2 Sheet of Craft Foam to cover the book
Scrap of Peach, Tan or Brown Craft Foam
Tacky Glue
Campfire Foamie
Two Foamie Hands
Two 10 mm Wiggle Eyes
Yarn
Paint Pens

If you make this project we'd love to see it! Just send your photos and comments to the editor and it may get published on this page!

What you do
Cut a piece of craft foam to 3-7/8" x 10-3/4". Cover 1 side of the outside of the autograph book cover with a light coat of tacky glue. Line up your craft foam at the end of the gluey cover. Press down. Spread a light coat of glue on the spine and other outside over. Wrap the foam around the book, continuing to line up. Place under a heavy book to dry.

Trim edges if necessary. Cut a 1-1/2" foam circle for the camper's face. Glue on the top left corner. Glue on two wiggle eyes, yarn hair and glue on two hands. Glue a foamie camp fire to the journal front.

Write your name, the year, the camp and "Warm Thoughts of Camp" on the front cover.

Recommended: I am a mom of 3 children, ages 8, 4, and 7 months. When my husband purchased a camper for our family, I was full of questions. "How can we go camping with 3 kids and have a great time?" I'm so glad I found the book "A Guide to Happy Family Camping." This book was a lifesaver. It answered all my questions. And gave me valuable advice on planning, food and play. This book also has great resource information on -planning, packing, and preparing -magazines, catalogs, and great web sites - lists of parks with addresses and phone numbers. Thanks to this book our first camping trip was a great success. This book is a must not just for inexperienced campers but for all camping families.
