  • Trash to Treasure: Hosting a Clutter Swap - If you're a mom, chances are you have some junk lying around your house. With kids also comes the constant influx of toys, clothes, and knick-knacks that are used momentarily and cast aside never to be seen again. Hosting a Clutter Swap is a fun way to get together with other moms (sans children) and also to clear your closet of unwanted items. There is a fun way to divvy up the treasures, and everyone goes home with something new and fun.
  • Turning Trash Into Cash - Junk. We all have some of it lying around the house. Whether it's boxed items cluttering the attic or everyday items that just don't fit with the room's decorating theme anymore, many of us have more than we need. At some point it all gets to be too much and in a fit of energy we decide that our place needs to be cleaned. Then the junk gets moved, typically to the nearest trash can. But wait. Before you throw out all that stuff, it pays to take head of the saying "one person's junk is another person's treasure."
  • When Grocery Coupons Won't Work - I always read about people who have many options in saving money. My husband and I have 3 children plus child support for his two. I work part time at various jobs. Our combined net income is $2500 per month after his child support. I am currently working on a degree in secondary education with two years left. We do not live in a town that offers double coupons or co-ops for food. There are only 2 grocery stores. The price of gas lately doesn't even make it efficient for us to go to Costco 180 miles away. Please offer some insight for people who have situations similar to this.
  • Yard Sale Etiquette - You see, there’s a certain unspoken moral and ethical code governing the sacred act of selling one’s stuff. Contrary to popular belief, a yard sale is not an anything-goes, no-etiquette-needed free-for-all. As in any social situation, there are certain things you do or don’t do in order to be polite.
