  • Autumn and the Comforting Taste of Pumpkin - Every year as soon as the air starts cooling off I get out my pumpkin recipes. It doesn't seem to matter that I use canned and buy extra to keep on hand all year. I love baking with pumpkin in the autumn. It's one of those wonderful comfort tastes and smells. For years I made my annual pumpkin bread and pie, but didn't venture beyond the traditional. Since then I have realized that pumpkin is nutritious and a frugal choice if you stock up during the autumn sales at the store. Plus, when I bring one of these recipes to a family get together there usually isn't a duplicate!
  • Awesome Apple Munchies - Apples are a wonderful source of vitamins, they're sweet and delicious, and there are so many recipes that you and your kids can make from them! Here are a few variations to choose from, all are fun for children and easy enough to do with help from a grown up.
  • Beautiful Fall Decor on a Shoestring - Ah, the glorious colors of Fall! Who doesn't love this season, with the beautiful leaves, colorful pumpkins and funny scarecrows. Fall is my favorite season. I love to decorate for this time of year because it's cheap and easy. With so many glorious, natural colors around you, you can't go wrong.
  • Chocolate Peanut Butter Coated Apples - A new, delicious twist on the traditional caramel apple! These are ideal for fall when you have an overabundance of apples, but don't discount them for other holidays and occassions! Simply change the color of the sprinkles or other decorations to fit the season or event.
  • Create Your Own Haunted House - Create the spookiest entertainment on the block, and terrify children and adults alike on Halloween night! Or make it the setting for a remember-it-forever Halloween costume party. Here are 13 steps to creating... the HAUNTED HOUSE. (Not recommended for small or sensitive children)
  • Dinner in a Pumpkin - The pumpkin shortage appears to be over. Maybe you weren't even aware, but last fall as Thanksgiving approached, pumpkin became scarce, and following the holiday season it was impossible to find. I would get emails from friends telling me they found a can here or there. And what a find, because although we associate pumpkin with the fall, it is delicious year round. It is also a good source of Vitamins A, B, C and E and packs a little fiber to boot. Don't forget the beta-carotene which is found only in the colorful vegetables.
  • Dressing Up a Cupcake For the Holidays - Cupcakes are everywhere right now and some can fetch a pretty penny. There is no reason you can't make amazing cupcakes that rival the fancy cupcake bakeries without spending hours in the kitchen or spending a fortune on supplies.
  • Edible Crawlies for Kids - Usually ants, beetles, and other creepy crawlies are not welcome in the kitchen. But that's not the case with these fun snacks. Grab the kids and eat some bugs!
  • Edible Haunted House - Here's a fun Halloween project for the whole family. Use your imagination to decorate this house any way that you desire. Watch out for ghouls and goblins, they may just devour your masterpiece early!
  • Fall Parties - Many parents are opting for Halloween or Fall parties as an alternative to trick-or-treating. ?But how do you keep all those kids safely and happily occupied for a few hours?
  • Frankenmallows - These adorable Frankenstein treats are easy for kids to make and are frightfully fun to eat! Make a whole bunch of them and wrap them in cellophane for a fun party favor or classroom treat.
  • Funny Magic for Funny Kids - Not every child can get into Hogwarts Academy. But children out here in the muggle world can still reveal their true gifts by embracing their inner magician – and crack up their audience while doing it.
  • Goblin Grub - Feed this yummy treat mix to all of Goblins in your neighborhood. They will surely come back for more! Super quick to make, mix it up and eat it in under 15 minutes!
  • Goodies for Goblins - Big & Small - Make some fun and festive treats this Halloween with your little goblins. But don't leave yourself out in the graveyard with nothing to munch. Here are some Halloween recipes that are not only for the kids. We've included some for hungry parents as well!
  • Goofy Spooks Halloween Cake - You don't have to be a master chef to create a fun and festive Halloween cake that your kids will love. Try this easy recipe for success!
  • Gross Halloween Party Food - Kitty Litter Cake and Hairball Salad with Saliva Dressing are on the menu this Halloween! Gross out your little goblins with these and more disgusting recipes.
  • Halloween Fun and Games - Play these friendly Halloween games during classroom celebrations, parties or family get togethers. Involve both the kids and the adults for a howling good time!
  • Halloween Party Ideas - Halloween is a time for children to be creative and original! Encourage your child’s inner ghost or goblin by throwing a frighteningly fun Halloween party! We've compiled a variety of fun Halloween party ideas, including decorations, treats, and activities that are sure to thrill your ghoulish guests.
  • Halloween Party Ideas - Halloween parties are my favorite kid's party. We always invite the neighbor kids over before trick-or-treating for food and games. Generally speaking, the weather is cooperative, the time frame is just around 2 hours and whether it is a weekend or school night, parents are happy to not have to worry about dinner and keeping the kids occupied until it is finally time to go out trick-or-treating.
  • Halloween With Braces Can Be Sweet - Those who wear braces should avoid nuts, popcorn, tortilla chips, all hard candy, jelly beans, licorice, taffy, caramel and other chewy candies, whether consumed on their own or as recipe ingredients. Try these fun recipes!
  • Mummy Cookies - Ask your Mummy to bake some mummy cookies for you! These little guys are all wrapped up and just waiting to be eaten. Covered in frosting and white chocolate, they're just too cute to be scary.
  • Mummy Meatloaf - Looking for a fun and ghoulish dinner recipe to delight your kids this Halloween? Try this Mummy Meatloaf and see how fast they gobble him up!
  • Old Fashioned Halloween Party - It's Halloween and you want to stay away from the big parties and door to door trick or treating with strangers. What do you do? Give an old fashioned party that will please everyone and get the whole family together!
  • Ooey Gooey Apple Crispies - Traditional rice crispy bars with a twist! Get the kids involved in making these treats. Pair them with a glass of milk for an after school snack or sneak them into their lunchboxes for a sweet surprise.
  • Pumpkin Cake Balls - Dressed in bright orange and green, these little pumpkins will look charming decorating a party table. Add an icing face to them and they'll turn into jack o' lanterns, making them a irresistible favors for your Halloween party guests.
  • Scarecrow Cheese Ball - This guy is all dressed up and ready to appear on your Thanksgiving table. This is one time that you won't have to worry about a scarecrow shooing away the birds!
  • Scarecrow Sugar Cookies - These scarecrows are a little nutty - they're cut from an acorn cookie cutter. Whip up a batch of these sugar cookies to keep the kids busy after Thanksgiving dinner while the adults enjoy a few minutes to relax.
  • Scarecrows, Pumpkins, & Ghosts, Oh My! - Decorating your front porch, yard, or walkway for Halloween can be loads of fun. While there are probably hundreds of ways to spiff up your yard and adorn your door, let's focus on a few simple solutions that your pocket can live with.
