Easy Inexpensive Fall Wreath
by Becky Breaux
Try this simple and inexpensive fall
wreath made from just a few supplies. What you'll get is a lovely wreath to hang on your door that everyone will love!
Supplies needed:
Straw wreath
Paper Twist Ribbon - A nice brown paper bag color, and a small amount of
orange and green.
Artificial fall colored leaves - Sold in small packages.
One small round styrofoam ball - 1 or 2 inches in diameter.
Hot Glue
Craft wire (Optional)
Take the wreath out of its plastic wrap. You actually want to see the straw
in this wreath!
Untwist some of the brown paper ribbon, leaving wrinkles, and wind it around
the wreath, leaving straw showing between the ribbon. Make a bow from the
paper twist - any kind you like - and attach it to the wreath with hot glue
or craft wire. I put mine at the top, off center to the left. Put yours wherever
you want it.
To make the pumpkin:
Unwrap a piece of the orange paper twist long enough to cover the styrofoam
ball. Wrap the ball in the paper ribbon, leaving some wrinkles in, and securing
the paper with hot glue. Try to avoid getting the glue directly on the styrofoam,
because it will melt.
For the pumpkin stem: Cut a piece of unwrapped green paper ribbon
into a star-type shape and glue to the top of your pumpkin. Use a small piece
of unwrapped brown paper twist and glue it to the top of the ball. Now you
have a tiny pumpkin.
At the bottom of your wreath, glue on a "pile" of the fake autumn leaves,
and glue the pumpkin on top of the pile. You can add more artifical leaves
to other places on the wreath.
Do whatever else to it you want! This is how I did mine, and it was very
inexpensive, and I get lots of compliments!
